Rally for Israel

On Wednesday, September 20, as world leaders converged on the United Nations General Assembly, the students of Bat Torah The Alisa M. Flatow Yeshiva High School joined together with tens of thousands of demonstrators in a massive rally of solidarity with Israel. Given the devastating attacks on Israel this past summer, the growing isolation of Israel in the world, as well as the intensifying threats of new terrorist attacks and annihilation of Israel, we felt that this was an event at which our students needed to be counted and heard. There was an enormous turnout, along with tightened security at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza.
Our school is proud to have been chosen to select a student representative to address the crowd at the beginning of the program. Eleventh grader Marina Huerta made us proud as she spoke her words of greeting and read the prayer for the welfare of the United States and its elected leaders.
